inDrive plans to launch a robotaxi pilot in Astana in 2027 with Pony.ai and NVIDIA, Arsen Tomsky said in a post on his Telegram channel on 23 October 2026. Passengers would order the vehicles through the inDrive app.
The announcement came on the day NVIDIA chief executive Jensen Huang visited Kazakhstan, according to the post.
Tomsky said Kazakhstan was among the first countries to create a legal framework for driverless transport.
The pilot will run in one of the world's coldest capitals. Snow, ice and severe winters will be a serious test for the technology, Tomsky said.
If the pilot succeeds, the experience will help inDrive launch robotaxis in other countries, he said. The post did not name a fleet size, route, fare or the amount the partners will invest.
