Alim Khamitov, general director of MOST Investment and co-founder of Kazakhstan's MOST Holding, said Tajikistan is one of the most promising markets for the company, Khovar reported on 18 October 2026. He spoke at events held during the Точикистон, ба пеш! entrepreneurs' forum in Dushanbe.

Khamitov said he has visited Tajikistan regularly since 2000. In his account, the country has many entrepreneurs with ideas and growth potential who take part in MOST's programs, build their companies and try to scale beyond Tajikistan across Central Asia.

MOST Investment works on the market for alternative investments and startups in the region, Khamitov said. He said the company has a business presence in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan and is looking at expanding cooperation with partners in Tajikistan. Interest from local investors in the company's investment projects is, in his view, evidence that the Tajik market has prospects.

According to Khamitov, investors from Tajikistan have already put money into the company's fund and were among the first to support it. He described that as a sign of trust and of interest in the development of the investment market.

Khamitov said he spent several years taking part, partly online, in work on legislation for alternative investments in partnership with the World Bank, including IFC. The aim was to build a culture of alternative investing and to widen entrepreneurs' access to financial and non-financial support. He said the experience accumulated in Kazakhstan could be useful for other countries in the region, and that exchanges of practical experience between businesses carry particular value in technology entrepreneurship.
